About Jack Zigon

Jack Zigon founded the Zigon Performance Group in 1986. His clients have included Fortune 1000 companies such as PECO Energy/Exelon, American Family Insurance, M&M/Mars, Ameritech, Coors Brewing Co., Ganett, Texas Instruments, Hallmark Cards, Sprint Corporation, R.L. Polk & Co., Hook-SupeRx, Inc., Air Product & Chemicals, TWA, United Airlines/COVIA, Square D Corporation, Farmland Industries, Purina Mills, Allied Signal, Yellow Freight System and ABF Freight System.

Prior to founding ZPG, Mr. Zigon spent four years as Manager-Human Resource Development for Yellow Freight System, Inc. He created Yellow's Performance Engineering function in 1981, and led it through dozens of performance improvement projects and three national awards. Yellow's management team credited the department with measurable performance improvements and sales increases worth $20 million from just one program.

Before Yellow, Mr. Zigon was a Senior Management Consultant for Human Technology, Inc., a Va.-based consulting firm specializing in creating new technologies for improving human performance. Mr. Zigon's clients included General Dynamics, the Department of Defense, FAA and HUD, and in two instances, his clients credited his programs with performance improvements worth $1.3 million, and cost savings of $250,000.

Mr. Zigon's business background includes five years experience in line management and marketing as Vice President and Director of Marketing for Human Resource Development Press, a Mass.-based publisher of training materials for industry and university use. He has a M.A. in Human Resource Development from American International College, and a B.S. in Human Development with a minor in Engineering Mechanics from Pennsylvania State University.

Mr. Zigon has designed 20 performance appraisal systems, co-authored 20 major training programs and nine books all aimed at improving employee performance. He has published articles in Personnel Journal, Training Magazine, American Compensation Journal, Performance Management Magazine, and Performance and Instruction Journal, was a Guest Reviewer for the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management and was a Contributing Editor of the Performance and Instruction Journal. Mr. Zigon's work has been described in articles in Industry Week, Training Magazine, Kansas City-ASTD Newsletter, and HR Reporter.

A former NCAA 1-meter and 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform diver, Mr. Zigon now enjoys recreational swimming and running, and once completed the Boston Marathon. He is married, has three children, and lives in Media, PA, a suburb west of Philadelphia.
